An interesting thing to note about Kate is that she was a female companion to the player, a few years before Half-Life 2 introduced Alyx Vance in a similar role.

Kate and Barney briefly appear during the ending of Point-of-View, the two stop in the jeep they stole to escape from Black Mesa and stumble upon the unconscious Vortigaunt known as Xonxt. Kate frees Barney and the two of them fight their way through the facility, they eventually part ways again when Barney goes down a broken pipe whilst Kate is captured by the G-Man and his Special Forces. Barney later finds out and makes it his mission to find and rescue her.Īfter Barney is captured and placed inside a tube filled with water being observed by the G-Man, scientists and female Black Ops, Kate enters the room and takes down the Black Ops but the G-Man had already escaped. Kate is first seen in a parking lot outside of Black Mesa, she is ambushed and attacked by Vortigaunts before attempting to escape. I replayed Opposing force and thought 'hey these black ops guys are pretty cool, i wonder if there are any models for them on the workshop' then i found some, but i didnt like them, so i made my own.
